The creators of TRIP CBD drinks Liv and Dan, fell in love with CBD back when Dan injured his knee so badly that doctors told him he wouldn’t be able to walk down the aisle at their wedding.
Fast forward a few weeks, and Dan was the last man standing on the dance floor and it was all thanks to (you guessed it) CBD.
TRIP was created to “share a bit of calm in the everyday chaos” and they wanted to make CBD drinks that did that but also taste great. They’re on a mission to leave you feeling more productive, less stressed and more like yourself.
With that in mind, the first thing you notice about Trip is what a sunny brand it is with sherbert colours that instantly make you feel brighter.
Both flavours are infused with chamomile for its soothing and calming benefits, are THC-free and are third-party lab tested to ensure the highest quality and purity. Plus, they’re gluten-free, palm-oil free and vegan.
TRIP Elderflower Mint & Peach Ginger CBD Drinks
And then there are the TRIP CBD infused drinks which are now stocked at everyone’s favourite member’s club, Soho House and have reportedly been “flying off the shelves” at the Queen’s Farm Shop in Windsor.
In three flavours Elderflower Mint, Peach Ginger and Lemon Basil, like the Trip oils they’re gluten-free, vegan and contain no added sugar.
Each 100% recyclable can contains 15ml of premium CBD with natural adaptogens for stress-free sipping.
We’re always on the lookout for new products to try so we asked one of our Ciao CBD collaborators Alena, to put 3 TRIP products to the test – and here’s her honest review.
Plus, there are no added sugars and all of their drinks have 21 calories or less making it a healthy alternative to that coca-cola you may usually reach for when you’re feeling stressed. And no sweat if you’re worried about gluten or vegan needs, this product ticks those boxes too.
I tried the drinks when the clock struck 12 and I still hadn’t crossed off some important to-do’s on my checklist. Although I preferred to tackle some of my least important tasks of the day first, I did get around to writing a killer pitch for one of my dream brands, feeling very inspired.
I also felt somewhat calm, but then switched my focus towards the remaining tasks of the day. By the end of the day, I felt pretty good and I thought my productivity levels were just right.
The Peach Ginger definitely takes first place over the Elderflower Mint when it came to flavour. I will say I was impressed with this peach too because some products labelled ‘peach’ can taste very synthetic and this tasted like the real deal.
I wouldn’t say the Elderflower Mint was particularly bad but I usually don’t go for elderflower drinks anyways and I have a real soft spot for anything peach-related.
TRIP CBD Infused Cold-Brew Coffee
I swapped my normal cup of joe one morning for this CBD Infused Cold-Brew Coffee instead. At first, I tasted this cold-brew on its own before mixing it with any milk.
I usually find cold-brews to be less bitter than a normal coffee so I usually take them alone or with very small amounts of milk. This CBD cold-brew tasted a bit sour, and I checked the best by date to make sure it hadn’t gone off.
It still had 2 more months before expiry so I continued to try and doctor it up with milk, but even that didn’t make the flavour more enjoyable.
To make sure I didn’t have a bad batch, I asked a friend to taste it only to find that she also disliked the flavour and neither of us was able to finish the product.
For me, although TRIP CBD Infused Cold-Brew Coffee won’t end up on my shopping list anytime soon unless they improve the current recipe, next time I see TRIP in store, you’ll catch me with a few cans of Peach Ginger and one Lemon Basil for testing.
If one thing is for sure, I’ll be pairing it with some gin on a Friday night because it sounds like it could be the most relaxing cocktail around town.
